Today in dance we went through the usual warm up. We tried out Cunninhams technique, however travelling the tilts this time. We started of the lesson with just simple breaths then did a spinal roll down and and again some curves to stretch the sides of our boys. We then went out into plank and also did side plank too.
Afterwards, we did our spinal roll down exercise however this time facing different directions in between phrases and we made this flow.
Then we did the lions and tigers and bears warm up routine again. but in groups of 4, 2 going in one direction and 2 in another. Then in a group of 3 people, we tried out having one person facing to the side whilst the others did it to the front.
Then we did the trio/duet piece 'The Park'. We started to introduce characterisation into the piece. Everyone had their own character in the park, whether it was a business women, a drug dealer a homeless person, a child etc, and within the phrase we learnt we tried to perform it in a way our characters would. I found this quite hard at first, but when I put my character deeply into my mind I stated to become it.
Then we watched 'The Park', where the inspiration of the phrase was coming from, and i noticed all the performers were very strong in character and you could tell exactly who they were playing, whether it be because of their costume, dynamics or movement. Then, in partners we had 1 chance to watch bit of movement and try to recreate it as accurate as possible. This was hard as we only saw it once however, Summer and I happened to catch on to a lot of detail in the movement but got the order mixed up. We then learnt the actual thing.

Rambert Dance
On Monday in lesson a lady from Rambert dance company came in to give us a workshop. I was very used to the way she worked as it was similar to when i danced at The Place. We started off with a technical warmup and i noticed later on when doing the routine that many things from the warmup were to support this routine. The warm up consisted of leg swings, pliƩs, tondus, alot of Cunningham technique, tilts, curves, release ect.
We learnt a routine from the dance performance Rooster, the scene of Ruby Tuesday. The music was, the rolling stones. I really enjoyed this routine, more towards the end was my favourite.

Dance AS lesson 1
Last lesson we started off with a spinal roll down and a stretch. Then we did our group warm up, plies and also the curve and contraction warm up. After we did lions and tiger and bears warm up routine and added onto it. We performed it in groups of 4 in which 2 of us went one way and another 2 of us went the other way which made it really interesting and make us connect more with each other, whether this was in duets side by side or duets with the person positioned behind us. Then we focused on a routine for our AS duets/trios. It is mainly focusing on the idea of different types of people in a park, e.g. a homeless person or a skateboarder or a businessman etc.
